Gospel of Matthew 6:26

Christians view themselves as pilgrims on this earth because they are on a journey. This journey, which begins with baptism, leads to union with God and with one another. It is a journey that eventually leads us to our spiritual home in heaven.

All Christians, indeed all major religions, are heirs to a long history of journeying with their God. The Christian notion of pilgrimage goes back to the days of Abraham who was called to embark on a journey of faith with his people. The theme of pilgrimage is many-faceted. It includes ideas of journey[ as we have seen]; the quest for meaning; and visiting sacred shrines and places where the faith shone bright and amazing. The purpose of a traditional pilgrimage to sacred places is to strengthen our bond with the Lord; with one another; and to obtain a blessing. It appeals to our natural sense of community and adventure for we are all pilgrims on this earth.

Thus I would like to invite you to consider joining me on a beautiful journey to Portugal[Fatima], Spain, France[Lourdes] and Italy[Rome] from June 15 to June 27, 2014.

Our pilgrimage will visit some of the most celebrated, spiritual places of our Christian faith.

Feel free to inform your family and friends about this unique trip! They may want to join you…It will really be an unforgettable, and fun-filled experience.
