The gospel of Mark, chapter 10:43-44

On the way to Jerusalem, two disciples: James and John, asked the Lord if they could sit at his right and left when he would “come into glory.” Jesus corrects this misconception of his disciples about his kingdom, saying that whoever wants to rank first in his kingdom must “serve the needs of all.”

How often people distort the true purpose of the Lord’s kingdom? It has nothing to do with careerism or self-aggrandizement. It has to do with service. It has to do with loving one another as Christ has loved us.
It has to do with serving “the needs of all.”
